Care First - Collingwood Centre are recruiting for Adult Teaching Assistants to join the team and truly make a difference.
£17,875.00 per annum before overtime
Monday to Friday 9:30am to 3:30pm
27.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

As an Adult Teaching Assistant, you will support adults with additional needs such as Autism, Learning Disabilities, Complex Health Needs and Behavioural Support Needs to access day opportunities working towards long and short-term goals to improve quality of life and promote fun whilst learning independence.
You will work as part of a growing team of Adult Teaching Assistants within an exciting expansion programme. As part of your role, you will be required to provide support with personal care needs e.g., toileting support and may be required to escort students by taxi (this would be discussed further should an interview be given).
Everything that we do is based on thoroughly understanding the needs of our learners and how we can best support them in achieving positive outcomes.
Our approach is caring, positive and adaptable, and is underpinned by a thorough theoretical knowledge. Our staff come from relevant educational and therapeutic backgrounds and have extensive experience of supporting adults with complex needs additional hours as and when required (escorting).

Who we are looking for
Experience working with complex needs is preferable, but if you are eager to help vulnerable young adults and adults to live happy, fulfilling lives, this is the role for you. We will provide you with full training and development to succeed within your role.
You will be adaptable and ready to work in a variety of classroom roles, both indoors and outside according to individual need. Taking a responsive and caring approach, you may be running classroom activities, leading outdoor experiences or supervising pupils as they explore further afield.

Knowledge & Experience
Experience of working as a Teaching Assistant or within a similar role
Experience of working with adults with learning difficulties/disabilities, autism and Mental Health
Experience of behaviour that can challenge
Desirable – knowledge and experience of autism and Mental Health
Desirable - NVQ Level 2 Health and Social Care - Adults
Prepared to undertake on-going training and day to day learning throughout employment
