Application tips and things to know.
Do your research! Look at our vision, mission and values, and check that you would fit well with our culture.
Apply via our application form. If you’re looking to work in Education or Clinical Services, we’ll ask for your full employment history from age 16, on your application form. We know this can make applying a little longer, but it’s a legal requirement for us to obtain this information in this way.
Include all job titles, employment dates, and your reason for leaving. If there are any gaps, please tell us why.
We need contact details for referees covering the previous three years. One should be your most recent employer. You must supply email addresses and phone numbers for the referees. Prepare these to avoid any delays.
If you’re invited to an interview, do some research, practice standard interview questions, come with your own questions and remember, it’s normal to feel nervous.
If you’re offered a role, we’ll carry out a criminal record check (DBS). If you’ve lived abroad within the last ten years, you will also be asked to complete an overseas criminal record check.
Each role will have additional, specific pre-employment checks. A member of our team will be in touch to talk you through what’s needed.
Usually, pre-employment checks take up to 4 weeks to complete. This can take longer if your DBS takes a while to return. We are unable to onboard anyone without a DBS so please be patient with us and remember, we want you to start just as much as you do.
The Interview
Our interviews are always conducted with at least two team members, either virtually via Teams or face-to-face. Depending on the role, candidates might be asked to prepare a presentation, lesson plan, or work sample. The best advice we can give is to consider the role's requirements and demonstrate that you possess the necessary skills and are an excellent match. You can consider using the STAR method to structure your responses effectively.
STAR:
Situation - the situation you had to deal with
Task - the task you were given to do
Action - the action you took
Result - what happened as a result of your action and what you learned from the experience
Should you advance, the next steps may vary based on the position's seniority. A second interview could take place, offering the chance to engage with more team members. For those applying to executive roles, a third interview will await, taking the form of an informal coffee chat with our COO or CEO.
We aim to bring out your best during interviews by creating a relaxed environment. And remember, it's just as important for you to assess us as it is for us to evaluate you.
If you're successful...
Fantastic news! You'll receive a verbal offer for the position via phone call. Upon acceptance, we'll send your official offer letter and contract.
Following this, we'll proceed with your pre-employment checks. To streamline this process, please present the necessary identity documents at your interview, ensuring they match the address on your application.
You will also need to provide:
Evidence of your eligibility to work in the UK, such as your passport or birth certificate along with your National Insurance document.
A recent proof of address, like a bank statement or utility bill from the last three months.
Don't forget to bring any relevant qualification certificates for the role.
After the completion of these checks, you'll be ready to embark on your new journey. We'll set an official start date and welcome you to our company induction, which lasts three days, before you join your local team.
